Our Liberation War began on 26 Mar 1971 and ended with the liberation of Bangladesh on 16 December 1971. The bangladesh Liberation Was also known as the Bangladesh War f Independence, or simpl the Liberation War in Bangladesh, was a revotion and armed conflict parked by the rise of the Bengali nationalist and determitation movement in what was then East Pakistan during the 1971 Bangladesh qurbcid. The armed struggle was the culmination of a serie events. Situations and issues ontributing to the progressively deteridrating relations between
East and West Pakistan. On March 25, the army launched a massive attack in which there were heavy casualties. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib was arrested and flown to West Pakistan. Before that, he declared the independence of Bangladesh. Eventually, on Dec. 3, 1971, the Indian army invaded the territory of its neighbor. The Pakistani army surrendered on December 16. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was released from jail and returned to a hero’s welcome, assuming leadership of the new Bangladesh government in January 1972. Our victory in the war of independence was a hard-earned one. We should not let this great achievement go in vain.
